Home furniture
Over the past few years, Ukraine's furniture industry has shown steady growth. Ukraine, being the geographical center of Europe, and having a large resource base combined with a free trade agreement with the European Union, has all the basic requirements for becoming the best European center for furniture investments.
Ukraine has complete resources in the furniture industry - from logging to chipboard production to manufacturing finished products.
Forest resources
Forests cover approximately 16% of the territory of Ukraine. The highest concentration of forests is in the north and west of Ukraine (mostly pine, beech, oak and spruce). The total forest area is 9.5 million hectares (ranked 9th in Europe). Ukraine produces about 20 million cubic meters of timber per year, which is able to fully satisfy the needs of Ukrainian furniture manufacturers.
Wood panels
The furniture industry is a heavy consumer of wood-based panels, such as plywood, MDF (medium density fiberboard) and OSB (oriented strand board). All these panels are produced in Ukraine, including by such international brands as Kronospan and Swiss Krono.

The structure of Ukrainian furniture production is as follows:
- Upholstered furniture 21%
- Office furniture 13%
- Kitchen furniture 10%
- Furniture and other components 56%
The demand for high-quality and relatively inexpensive furniture is increasing in Ukraine, as well as in Europe. In 2019, Ukraine's furniture exports increased by 7.8% compared to 2018, reaching 674.3 million USD. More than 80% of Ukrainian furniture goes to the European Union countries.
