It was established in 1994 in order to provide assistance to individuals and legal persons in protecting environmental rights, to promote the development of environmental protection, environmental education, science and culture.

Citizen action often becomes crucial to solving environmental problems.
Citizens' awareness of their rights and freedoms is the key to the effectiveness of civil society.
A large part of EPL's work aims to educate citizens about their rights, particularly in the environment.

The organization's mission is to establish the rule of law to protect the environment.
The law and its principles and rules create a basis for environmental protection and are an integral part of it that allow the legal regulation of legal relations in the field of protection, use and restoration of natural resources, environmental safety, and the prevention and liquidation of negative human impacts.
