United Nations Development Programme

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is the United Nations' global development network, which advocates for change and connects countries with knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are present on the ground in 166 countries, working with them on their solutions to global and national development challenges. They develop local capabilities. They depend on the people of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and a wide range of our partners.
In Ukraine, four development focus areas define the structure of UNDP assistance activities. These include democratic governance; Prosperity, poverty reduction and the Millennium Development Goals; Local development and human security; Energy and the environment. In each of these thematic areas, UNDP tries to ensure a balance between policy, advocacy work, capacity building activities and pilot projects, and UNDP established its presence in Ukraine in 1993.
