Agro-industries Holding Kiev
Astarta-Kyiv is an agro-industrial company and a leader in the Ukrainian sugar sector. We focus our operations on the production and sale of sugar made from sugar beet, secondary sugar products and related services. Our agricultural business is primarily aimed at cultivating sugar beets by agricultural companies controlled by our properties which are the main raw material for our sugar factories. Thus, we have established the value chain on the basis of vertical integration of business. Due to the necessity of crop rotation in the cultivation of sugar beet, we are also involved in the cultivation and sale of various cereal crops and oilseeds. Livestock raising is our auxiliary non-essential activity. As of the date of this law, we are a group of companies, with a holding company or incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands and all production assets based in Ukraine. These assets are controlled by our Ukrainian holding company with limited liability “Astarta-Kyiv”, which in turn controls our production units. These units consist of sugar factories and agricultural companies with a leased area of 180,000 hectares, in addition to one mixed fodder plant. The Ukrainian parent company provides central sales. All of our operations are located in Poltava, Vinnytsya, Khmelnyrsky, Ternopil and Zhytomyr Oblasts (administrative regions) of Ukraine. Our Ukrainian headquarters are in Kiev.
