Lemma Insurance Joint Stock Company

Lemma Insurance Joint Stock Company is one of the largest Ukrainian non-life insurance companies in the GWP, reserves and paid-in capital operating in the domestic market since 1994.

The company is licensed to write all kinds of non-life business on the Ukrainian market including specialist lines such as aerospace, aviation, crops, livestock, domestic credit, export credit, insurance of nuclear utility operators etc.

In the local direct market, the company mainly focuses on large corporate clients in the industrial sector. As a rule, large companies are offered medical insurance plans, auto policies, and other group products.

Aside from direct business, Lemma is very active in the local reinsurance market on an optional and treaty basis. Presumed reinsurance business by the end of 2008 accounted for approximately 52% of the GDP.

In the international market, Lemma provides coverage to more than 160 companies from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, all countries of the Middle East and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Lemma is officially approved as a reinsurance company by the regulatory authorities in Egypt, Jordan and Syria.

The company is the only company on the Ukrainian market that provides professional reinsurance for foreign export credit institutions.

Lemma has been audited by BDO since 2004 and rated by AM Best (B +, Stable Outlook) since 2006.

Lemma is a member of the Ukrainian Insurance Association, the Ukrainian Nuclear Complex, the Russian Association of Aerospace and Aviation Insurance Companies, the Ukrainian Aviation Bureau and the Ukrainian Automobile Office (Transport).

As of 2004, the company has observer status within the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
