The Institute of Ukraine History, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a research institution that deals with a wide range of issues related to national history. Founded in 1936 (in 1953 1990 Institute of History, National Academy of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic; 1991 1994 Ukraine Academy of Sciences, since 1994 National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

The main areas of the institute's activities include:

- History of Ukraine (from Kievan Rus to date);

- Ukraine in the context of European and world history.

- Regional history of Ukraine and historical local studies.

- National historiography research and publication of historical sources;

Special historical topics. Electronic information sources;

- Encyclopedia of the history of Ukraine? In 10 volumes and so on.
