We kicked off the second decade of Fulbright in Ukraine appropriately enough with the launch of a new, updated, and more interactive webpage. There were a few Fulbright Scholars in Ukraine and before 1992-3, but it was only in that year that a separate program was established for Ukraine. Just like this web page, which is based on a previous page, so the Fulbright Program is based on past scholarly contacts between Ukraine and the United States. While in the early years of the Fulbright Program in Ukraine, we emphasized sharing of information about each other and about our programs, we are now expanding and deepening our contacts between faculty and students alike. Within a decade of its existence, the Fulbright Program in Ukraine became part of the Willing Network of the community of Fulbright Scholars. Through programs sponsored by the United States government, Ukrainian scientists have become a part not only of the American academic community but also of the global community of scholars led by, but not limited to, Fulbright alumni. We want to provide you with information about the programs we offer, give some pointers on setting up effective applications, and direct you to other related activities. We hope this webpage can serve as another way to maintain and expand scientific communication. We hope that you not only learn about the programs and opportunities available to you, but that you also find people interested in topics related to your areas of expertise or interests.
