Lviv National Polytechnic University is the oldest technical educational institution in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. The history of Lviv Polytechnic University dates back to the founding of the Technical Academy in Lviv in 1844. It has been training highly qualified specialists for more than 160 years now and has been a generator of artistic ideas and inventions, a leading educational and scientific center.

Today Lviv Polytechnic National University is a higher education institution of the fourth level of accreditation, its graduates work in all fields of the economy in our country and in many countries of the world.

Lviv Polytechnic University consists of 12 educational and scientific institutes, in addition to the Institute for Distance Education, the Institute of Higher Education, the Institute of Land Forces, the Institute of Education, Culture and Cooperation with the Diaspora, the Technical and Economic Technical Colleges, two secondary schools, 32 academic and laboratory buildings, 14 residential halls, 3 Recreational camps for students and teachers, Prosveta Cultural Association.

More than 31,000 students, students and overseas students study at the university. Specialists are trained in 56 directions and 106 specialties.

The teaching process is guaranteed by the faculty and teachers who number more than 2000 people, among whom are more than 200 Doctors of Science and more than 1000 Associate Professors and Candidates of Science. About 300 scientists from the scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, manufacturing companies and designer institutes are involved in the education process. The modern development of the university is based on the principles of inheritance and the preservation of educational, scientific and cultural traditions. At the same time, we are faced with the tasks of achieving new heights. These are the creation of conditions for Lviv Polytechnic University as a research university, combining education, science and innovations in an integrated process.
