Air Force University, Kharkiv is a multi-level advanced higher educational institution with great scientific pedagogical capabilities, strong equipment and training facilities. The university is able to prepare highly qualified officers and civilian specialists.

At present, the university has the fourth level of accreditation (AB license 363629 from 11.12.2007, and ND II-III-IV accreditation certificate 210943 from 25.10.2006).
The general area of the laboratories is 100,000 square meters. Classrooms are equipped with computers, simulators, and real weapons samples. The department's laboratories use modern plants that allow research into various phenomena and processes.

The university includes a flight training brigade, training center, training ground with airport training facilities and a fitness center.
The university has the necessary conditions for culturally educating officer students, for example, two cinemas, bands, dance clubs. Amateur music band named Ekipaj has participated several times in national and international competitions.

The university's international recognition was approved by permanent educational applications from foreign countries: Hungary, China, Egypt, Ecuador, Yemen, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Moldova, Myanmar, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Rwanda and Georgia.
The university is working to increase the scope of international cooperation with educational institutions in the United States of America, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Slovakia, China and Vietnam.

The further development of the university is linked to the European science and education systems.
