The Ukrainian Catholic University is an open academic community that lives the Eastern Christian traditions and forms leaders to work with professional distinction in Ukraine and internationally - for the glory of God, the common good and the dignity of mankind.

Enterprise Type:
A private institution for education and research. It was founded by the Saint Clement Fund, and its elected head is Patriarch Lubomir (Hosar), head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Instruction form:
Daytime classes in the Faculties of Philosophy, Theology and Humanities, evening and counseling lessons at the Educational Institute for Christian Education, short-term courses in theological subjects, and summer educational and pastoral programs.

Educational structures:
In the general department of the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology and the Faculty of Human Sciences study secular and young women as well as monks and nuns (479 persons).
Young men studying the priesthood at the Institute of the Holy Spirit in Lviv (208 persons).
375 students study in the evening and extension classes at the Pedagogical Institute of Education.

The largest library of theological literature in Ukraine. Publishing house educational and scientific literature. Computer center with network of 120 computers and free internet access. Patriarch Joseph Slebig Museum.

Sectarian Membership: The university comes from the traditions of the theological education of the Kievan Church, and is open to both Eastern and Western theology. UCU is the heir of the Greek Catholic Theological Academy, which was founded in Lviv by Metropolitan Andrei Shiblitsky, and the Ukrainian Catholic University, which was founded by Patriarch Joseph Slebeg in Rome. The university is open to representatives of all churches and denominations. Studied here are Roman Catholics, Orthodox, Roman Catholics, Protestants and Jews.
Professors: 105 teachers, 40 of whom have Ph.D. or studies candidate degrees. Annually, approximately 40 guest professors travel to UCSD from universities in Western Europe, Australia, USA and Canada. The faculty to student ratio in the daily program is 1: 3.
