The Odessa commercial port is one of the largest in the Black Sea-Azov chain. The port of Odessa is located in the northwestern part of the Black Sea (46'32'N, 30'54'E) on the historically established trade routes between East and West. The port's technical facilities allow it to handle more than 18 million tons of dry cargo and 25 million tons of liquid cargo annually. The developed infrastructure allows goods to be delivered by automobile, rail, sea and river transportation. The specialized terminals of the port with a large park for handling equipment and towing devices allow the handling of a wide range of cargoes. The port's universality provides handling for virtually any type of cargo: oil, bulk crude oil and condensate gas; Tropical and vegetable oils, technical and container oils, non-ferrous and ferrous metals; Raw, cast iron and raw sugar in large quantities; Bulk Grain Perishable Cargo Paper in Containers; Various general cargoes in bags, boxes, parcels, drums and integrated shipping units. There are eight dry cargo handling complexes, a passenger terminal, oil and container terminals, and a vegetable and vegetable oil processing complex on an area of 133.3 hectares of the port area. The (free) special economic zone “Puerto Franco” is located on the quarantine quay. 54 protected berths with a total berth line length of more than 9000 m allow acceptance of ships with tonnage up to 100 thousand tons, length up to 300 m and draft of 13.0 m.
